Their journey began with a pop-up taqueria in a Finsbury Park pub, leading them to a restaurant in Berlin before travelling through Mexico, where they learned ancestral cooking methods. The couple import and grind corn on site using volcanic stones, with hopes to one day grow these varieties in Cornwall.
Returning to Francis’ Cornish roots they opened Pica Rico Helston deli in 2023, which has quickly become a local favourite combining Mexican dishes with Cornwall-grown vegetables, locally caught fish, and sustainably farmed meats.
